MURRAY, JOHN A., Assistant Professor of Agricultural Extension and Assistant Extension Editor — leave of absence without pay for one year from December I, 1954. ZIM, HERBERT S., Professor of Education — leave of absence without pay for the second semester of the academic year 1954-55, so he may have additional time for four writing projects. AFFILIATION OF ST. LUKE'S HOSPITAL WITH THE UNIVERSITY At the request of President Morey, an executive session was ordered to consider this matter of business. The President reported that the governing board and officials of St. Luke's Hospital in Chicago are planning to construct a new hospital in the Medical Center District and desire an affiliation with the University of Illinois Chicago Professional Colleges, similar to the present affiliation the University has with the Presbyterian Hospital of Chicago. The President stated that he has authorized Dr. Granville A. Bennett, Dean of the College of Medicine and Chairman of the Administrative Committee for the Chicago Professional Colleges, and other University officials to carry on negotiations with representatives of St. Luke's Hospital to work out a plan of affiliation which will be submitted to the Board of Trustees for final approval.

On motion of Mr. Johnston, the President's action was confirmed.
