LEAVES O F ABSENCE FOR MILITARY DUTY (6) It is the policy of the University of Illinois to grant members of its staff who are officers or enlisted men in the Illinois National Guard, the Illinois Naval Militia, or in the Army, Navy, or A i r Force reserves leaves of absence on full pay for limited periods of field training, cruises, and similar obligations for active service. This is consistent with the policy established by the Governor for personnel in the state administrative departments. This policy applies equally to all categories of employment in both the academic and nonacademic staffs. However, the Director of Nonacademic Personnel has requested that it be formalized so far as his office is concerned by adding to the present paragraph 3, Section I X , Leaves of Absence, in the current issue of "Policy and Rules Relating to Compensation and Working Conditions of Nonacademic Employees" the following: "Leaves of absence with full pay will be granted to members of the staff who are officers or enlisted men in the Illinois National Guard, the Illinois Naval Militia, or the reserve components of the Armed Forces for limited service in field training, cruises, and kindred recurring obligations.
