A meeting of the Executive Committee of t h e Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois w a s held at the University Club, 76 E a s t Monroe Street, Chicago, at noon on Monday, July 30, 1945. Present, M r . P a r k Livingston, Chairman, a n d M r . Chester R. Davis a n d D r . K a r l A. Meyer, members of the Committee; also D r . A r t h u r Cutts Willard, President of the University, Professor James J. Doland, Supervising Engineer of the University of Illinois Airport, a n d M r . H . E . Cunningham, Secretary.

MATTERS PRESENTED BY PRESIDENT WILLARD

T h e Executive Committee considered the following matters presented by the President of the University.

SPECIAL APPROPRIATIONS FOR N O N R E C U R R I N G EXPENDITURES

(1) The Committee on Special Appropriations and Nonrecurring Expenditures recommends assignments from the General Reserve Fund for the following purposes: Agricultural Engineering Building improvements $18 200 Minor building improvements IS 000 Electronic equipment for Electrical Engineering Department 5 200 Total $38 400 O n motion of D r . Meyer, this appropriation was made as recommended, by the following vote: Aye, M r . Livingston, M r . Davis, D r . Meyer.

CONTRACTS FOR CAPITAL EXPENDITURES IN CHICAGO

(2) Bids were secured by the Physical Plant Department on various remodeling jobs in the Chicago Colleges. Funds to pay for these improvements are available in the appropriation for capital additions made by the Board of Trustees on November 30, 1944. These projects and the bids are as follows:
