IV. Minor (Students a r e required to complete one teaching minor consisting of a minimum of 16 semester hours. In addition, the beginning teacher of French may need to be prepared to teach a second minor requiring a minimum of 16 hours. Desirable teaching combinations with French include English, foreign languages, history, art, music, and physical education. A double major in French and English and a double major in French and Latin with English or history as a minor subject are also recommended.) V. Electives (Additional hours for electives may be gained from basic courses credited from secondary school and by fulfilling part of the General Education requirements by work counted also toward a major or minor. It is recommended that students preparing for teaching take work totaling 130 hours in order to be prepared beyond minimum requirements.)
