Students who complete this curriculum may elect to take the A.B. degree. The identity of the courses elected in Latin will depend on the student's previous preparation; Latin 6, or ia, is to be elected by those who have offered two units of highschool Latin for entrance (the normal case). • In lieu of Rhetoric I and a in the first year, followed by Speech 10 or 1 later, the student may elect D.G.S. ia-ib (Verbal Expression), for 4 hours of credit each semester of the first year. * Students are required to complete one teaching minor consisting of a minimum of 16 semester hours. In addition, the beginning teacher of Latin may need to be prepared to teach a second minor requiring a minimum of 16 hours. Desirable teaching combinations with Latin include a double minor in history and physical education, a double major in Latin and French with a minor in English or history, a double major in Latin and Spanish with a minor in English, a double major in Latin and German with a minor in English.
