The Board considered the following matters presented by the President of the University.

AWARD O F CERTIFICATES OF CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT (1) The Committee on Accountancy recommends that the certificate of Certified Public Accountant be awarded the following who have made applications therefor under t h e Accountancy Act of 1943 and who have presented evidence to the Committee that they a r e properly qualified. Candidates holding unrevoked C.P.A. certificates issued by other states or territories of the United States or t h e District of Columbia, and earned by passing a written examination (Section 5 ) :

LEAVES O F ABSENCE (2) A recommendation that the following leaves of absence, without pay, be granted members of the staff for military and other w a r services for the period indicated in each case: KURT SPRINGER, Assistant in the Department of Laryngology, Rhinology, and Otology ( R u s h ) , February 1 through August 31, 1945. ( A r m y ) LENORE HERMANN, Staff Nurse, Research and Educational Hospitals, May 22 through August 31, 1945. ( A r m y Nurse Corps) J. L. DEWTON, Cataloger in t h e Library, leave of absence without pay from August 1 until October 15, 1945, for a special overseas mission for the Air Technical Service Command at W r i g h t Field. This is a technical inspection service to secure certain scientific data specifically requested by t h e Army. This leave may be terminated earlier if Mr. Dewton returns prior to October 15. O n m o t i o n of M r . Nickell, these leaves w e r e g r a n t e d a s recommended. SPECIAL APPROPRIATIONS FOR N O N R E C U R R I N G EXPENDITURES (3) T h e Committee on Special Appropriations and Nonrecurring Expenditures recommends assignments from the General Reserve F u n d for the following purposes, these appropriations to be available until January 1, 1946: 1.
