I recommend that Professor Will be given sabbatical leave of absence on one-half pay for the year 1945-1946 with authority to accept the fellowship given him by the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation.

After discussion, and on motion of Mr. Davis, this leave was granted as recommended.

C U R R I C U L U M IN RADIO JOURNALISM (6) T h e University Senate recommends approval of a new curriculum in Radio Journalism as set forth below. I n support of this proposal, the School of Journalism calls attention to (1) the importance of radio in the field of communications, (2) the relation of education for radio journalism to higher education, and (3) the desirability of establishing such a curriculum at the University of Illinois. On motion of Mrs. Grigsby, this curriculum was approved as recommended.

CHANGES IN REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION TO T H E COLLEGE O F PHARMACY (7) T h e University Senate recommends that the requirements for admission to the College of Pharmacy be changed to read as follows: Age.—The minimum age for admission is sixteen years. Health.—Each applicant must supply a satisfactory health report, either from the Health Service of the University, or from the last school attended. High School Subjects.—Fifteen of the units required for high school graduation must include two majors (of three units each) and one minor (of two units) from the fields of English, foreign language, mathematics, science, and social studies, with a total of at least nine units from these fields. One major must be English. A t least a minor must be in mathematics, including algebra and plane geometry. T h e six remaining units necessary for admission may be selected from any of the high school subjects which are accepted by an accredited high school toward its diploma and which meet t h e standards for accrediting as defined by the University of Illinois. T w o units of natural science (including biology) and two units of social studies are desirable, although not required. Selection of Applicants.—The Committee on Admissions will take into consideration the candidate's personal qualifications, interest in the profession of
