RECEIPT OF SECURITIES ESTATE OF LYDIA E. BATES

Mr. K a r r a k e r , for the Finance Committee, reported that the Citizens Bank of Decatur, Trustee of the Estate of Lydia E . Bates, deceased, had reported that the real estate a n d some of the securities in the estate h a d not been disposed of, but that there is in the hands of the Trustee $7,600 U . S. T r e a s u r y bonds and $925 H.O.L.C. bonds which it is prepared to turn over to the University. T h e Committee recommends that the Comptroller be authorized to accept these securities and to credit them to t h e Lydia E . P a r k e r Bates F u n d for the Advancement of Fine Arts, a n d to execute a proper receipt to the Trustee. O n motion of M r . K a r r a k e r , the acceptance of these securities was authorized as recommended.

STANDING COMMITTEES

Mr. Livingston suggested that consideration be given to the appropriateness of the standing committees of the Board under present conditions. T h e President of the Board was authorized to appoint a special committee on matters relating to the status of the employees of the University, including Civil Service relations, wages, etc. President Meyer appointed t h e following special committee on these m a t t e r s : M r .
