University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Society of Women Engineers 300 Engineering Hall 1308 West Green Street Urbana, IL 61801 217 333-3558 SWE Executive Meeting April 23, 1989 We discussed the restructuring of SWE officer titles and responsibilities. Melissa's LRP Committee will present a more finalised report soon. New ideas to increase membership participation in SWE were brainstormed. Some ideas included making a certain number of general meetings mandatory, having groups of members in the dorms walk to meetings together and establishing a "SWE honorary" that requires participation for initiation. Next year we hope to send a SWE member to an Engineering Freshman Council Meeting to give a presentation to the group in the hope of attracting new members. We need to decide how we are going to fill the position of Conference Director for next year. Start thinking about dates for the Little Sister Banquet and the Officer Retreat. Please submit to me, Laura Keenan, any information that you would like to include on a flyer to be handed out on Quad Day.
