Old businesss The treasurer reported that National had sent all the reimbursement cheeks up to the 1953*1964 school year, New Business! 1# Whether or not to continue the student chapter was discussed* Miss Wilson suggested to continue as an encouragemnefc to . • incoming freshmen women in engineering* Her suggestion was voted on and carried* 2* Robin Whitney suggested to improve cosrsmunicatlons among members* She suggested to notify the girls at least a week in advance of a meeting and to have a calendar of scheduled events worked up in the summer. She also suggested to have some speakers for- seminar programs, as well, as speakers from.. the professions talking on women in engineering* 3»•• We decided to give some ©oncrete ideas as to what we will ••• be doing during the year*. 4* The first meeting of the 1964«196S school year will he held .the first Tuesday of classes in the fall* 5. Robin Whitney volunteered to write letters to all women In engineering at the University of Illinois during the suirimer* 6* The picnic will be held the first Saturday after classes next fall* We decided to keep the picnic informal* Some indoor games will b s planned* The introductions to the' ? Deanls. and their wiires will be more formal; an effort to make sure that everyone is introduced to them should be made* 7* A motion was made to elect officers for the 1964=65 school ysar* The officers elect are* President - Sandra Collins Vice-president * Regina Kyker Secretary-treasurer - Robin Whitney Fa&a&ty advisor * Miss Grace Wilson 8* A questionalre is to be mailed out during the summer to all girls eligible for the society.to determine their interests.* 9. The meeting was turned over to Sandra Collins* 10. The treasurers books are not closed yet for the 1963=64 school year* 11. There will be no publicity at the picnic; it will be at toe first meeting.
