Judging criteria will include appearance, organization, problem definition, development of alternative solutions, presentation of research, experimentation, or modelling, and conclusions. The twelve finalists will compete in an oral competition at the National Student Conference. Each speaker at the National Competition is allotted 15 minutes. Speakers will be evaluated on the basis of their verbal presentations (poise, voice, posture, visual aids, appearance organization, etc.), as well as the technical content of their presentations. Judging criteria will be distributed to the speakers prior to the Conference. AWARDS The twelve finalists will receive a transportation allocation (up to tourist class air fare) from the 1986 National Technical Presentation Competition Coordinator to enable participation in the competition on June 24, 1986, in Hartford. To fulfill an obligation for accepting the transportation cost, the entrant will participate in the finals if selected. The three national winners will be awarded an additional prize and will be honored at the Student Awards Banquet. Although the prizes may vary from year to year, past winners have received microprocessdrs, televisions, and cash awards.
