President's Report A. Honeywell Essay Contest - essays due by Jan. 31 B. SWE Scholarships - National SWE gives away scholarships; applications due by Feb. 1. Our SWE chapter will also be giving away money next semester. C. SWE Technical Paper Contest - Anyone who has worked this summer or is working on a project now can write a paper. Section winners are flown to the National Convention and they give an oral presentation of their project. Winners receive cash prizes. D. Social - SWE has rented out the Ice Rink with IEEE, ACM, AND ASME. Free pizza and hot cocoa. Skating is Thursday night from 12-1 a.m. E. Student Senate nomination forms are in 207 Engineering Hall. Admin. V.P. Kim Stump presented to the members the activities and projects that she was in charge of. They are Mom's Day Banquet and Resume Book. Also the Computer Program project. Lisa Vanek then discussed the office of Engineering Council Representative. The floor was open for nominations for Administrative Vice President. were two nominees. After voting, the new officer was Lisa Warda. There

The floor was again open for Engineering Council Rep and Julie Heim was elected. III. Officer's Reports A. Ruta - Women's Technical Career Night went well. Thanks to everyone who attended. B. Karen Webber - EOH project: "Games" will be the topic. SWE t-shirts announced that orders were still available and that some shirts were in. C. Lisa Winger - Announced Newsletter Box Committee will not meet until next semester due to finals coming up. Announced SAMS and told what the committee was about. (Students Against Multiple Sclerosis) Members seemed interested to do a project ourselves. D. Lisa Vanek - Spoke of Frosh & Soph committees to help decide on'majors to enter. Announced Blood Drive Friday Dec. 6. Also advisor is almost chosen. Representative from Barber-Coleman - Helen Schrand. Her position is an Application Engineer in the Plastics Division. B-C produces plastics and textiles. Briefly discussed B-C and the opportunities there. Proceeded to cover after that the Engineering world to a woman engineer. The good and the bad points.
