Bertha Mitchell called the meeting to order at 6:10, and then read the agenda for the meeting. The minutes were read, and officer reports were given-. The Treasurer reported over $?00 in the treasury. T-shirts will be available again in November, and membership,amplications are still bei-ng accented. The Vice-President announced the nossibi.1i.ty of a social event. Engineering Council Ren. told groun about Bowling Tournament, E0H-~ SITE, and SPeaker' s Bureau. Nick Hoyle snoke on the various sub-committees *n Eng. Council. New Business: G1 * n Johnson tol<* about the Knights of St. Pat award for - »n out-standing engineers. SWE nominated Sharon Stefanik and Bertha Mitchell for the Award. Guest Sneaker:Mr, Fre^ Turner from Ford Re-search Labs snoke on his research with the "hybrid car"--a car with an electric motor and an internal combustion engine to obtain fuel conservation an^ efficiency. The meeting was adiourned about 8:1.5 n.m. Attendence was about 60.
