Minutes fi>r S.W.E* Meeting August 2?5 1 7 - 911 7:00 P»M» University of Illinois Student Section The Student Section of the Society of Women Engineers met on August 27*. ^97!}.* at 7*00 P*M. a t the Electrical i Engineering Building* This was the first meeting of the year. Several of the members gave small talks about their summer job experiences. This summer Louann Beinke worked With a company in Rock Isiand,Mary Liber was with Natural Gas Pipeline in Joliet, Kay Lander- Department of Transportation}, Martha GarmanHatural Gas Pipeline, Betty Richards-Bell Laboratories* It was mentioned that Corning Hants to gives money to our local section of S.W.E*$ and we must decide what to do with the money. Suggestions are; 1) Hold a convention next year. 2) Form a grant for a girl in engineering for next-falls 3) Use money to send incoming chairmen, or possibly more people, to the National Convention. Sleeted new representatives for Engineering Council* are; Donna Glick and Cheryl Blair* They Congradulations to University of Illinois for getting the S.W.E. award for "Best Student Section"!!
