MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS December 18, 1963 The December meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held in the Board of Directors' Room of the First National Bank of Chicago, Chicago, Illinois, on Wednesday, December 18, 1963, beginning at 10:30 a.m. The following members of the Board were present: Mr. Howard W. Clement, Mr. Irving Dilliard, Mr. Earl M. Hughes, Mr. Wayne A. Johnston, Mr. Ray Page, Mr. Harold Pogue, Mr. Timothy W. Swain, Mrs. Frances B. Watkins, Mr. Kenney E. Williamson. Governor Otto Kerner was absent. Also present were President David D. Henry, Executive VicePresident and Provost Lyle H. Lanier, Vice-President Norman A. Parker, Chicago Undergraduate Division, Vice-President Joseph S. Begando, University of Illinois at the Medical Center, Chicago, Director C. S. Havens of the Physical Plant, Mr. C. E. Flynn, Assistant to the President and Director of Public Information, Mr. James J. Costello, Legal Counsel, Mr. Donald C. Neville, Assistant to the Director of the Physical Plant, Mr. V. L. Kretschmer, Director of Auxiliary Services; and the officers of the Board, Mr. R. R. Manchester, Treasurer, Mr. H. O. Farber, Comptroller, and Mr. A. J. Janata, Secretary. Mr. C. W. Weldon, former Treasurer of the Board, was a guest at the meeting. 933
