The contracts will provide for complete rehabilitation of the eighth floor attic, previously a storage area, to provide additional quarters for the center for the study of medical education which represents an extension of the work now being conducted by the Office of Research in Medical Education. This remodeling will add six new offices, study carrels, a teaching laboratory workshop, a classroom-conference room, and other auxiliary space. It is further recommended that all contracts other than the contract for general work be assigned to the contractor for that work, making the total of his contract price $73,109; and that an agreement be entered into with Ashland Construction Company for the assignment of these other contracts for $1,600 which amount is included in the contract price, being the amount bid by that Company for service charge for supervision of other contracts assigned to the general contractor. Funds are available in a grant from the Commonwealth Fund. A schedule of all bids received is submitted herewith, and a copy is filed with the Secretary of the Board for record. I concur.
