CONTRACTS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF REHABILITATION CENTER (12) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend award of the following contracts for construction of the first phase of the Rehabilitation Center Building to be erected at the northwest comer of Stadium Drive and Oak Street, Champaign, the award in each case being to the lowest bidder: General — A. F . Bishop Company, Champaign 81 136 Base bid $ 75 800 Additive alternate for extension of basement under unexcavated areas 5 336 Total $856 413 It is also recommended that all contracts other than the general contract be assigned to the contractor for general work, making the total of his contract $856,413 and it is further recommended that an agreement be entered into with A. F. Krall Construction Company, Inc., Decatur, for the assignment of these other contracts for $14,000, which amount is included in the contract price, being the amount bid by that Company for service charge for supervision of other contracts assigned to the general contractor. If the foregoing recommendations are approved, the Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller also recommend an increase of $3,456 in the contract with A. F . Krall Construction Company, Inc., Decatur, for the purchase and installation of lockers for dressing rooms. This change in the contract was negotiated after the receipt of bids; one-third of the cost of this installation will be paid from a federal grant for the project. Funds are available in a grant from the United States Public Health Service (Public Health Service I I I . 164), from private donations, and in the state capital appropriations to the University for 1961-63 from the Universities Building Fund, and have been released. I concur in the foregoing recommendations, subject to final approval of the federal grant by the United States Public Health Service. O n m o t i o n of M r s .
