D I S C O N T I N U A T I O N OF DIVISION OF SPECIAL SERVICES FOR WAR VETERANS

(11) As authorized by the Board of Trustees, the Division of Special Services for War Veterans will be discontinued as of September 1, 1960. The "University will, of course, carry out its obligations tD nineteen students still enrolled in the Division who have not yet graduated. Mr. Frank A. Bridgewater, who has been serving as Director of the Division since 19S1 (prior thereto he was Assistant Director), has been appointed Assistant to the Dean of Admissions and Records effective September 1, I960, and in this new position he will continue to administer the programs of the students remaining in the Division until they have completed requirements for degrees. This is being reported for record and confirmation.

On motion of Mr, Harewood, this action was confirmed. On motion of Mrs. Watkins, the Secretary was requested to express to Mr. Bridgewater the Board's appreciation of his services as Director of the Division.

DEPARTMENT OF SPEECH A N D THEATRE (12) On request of the Department of Speech, concurred in by the Executive Committee and the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, I have approved a change in the name of the Department to "Department Df Speech and Theatre," effective September 1, 1960.
