Schedule I —1961-63 Biennium Campvs-PubKc Improvement Projects— Chicago Profession!! Colleges Appropriation request $110,000. Recently acquired areas from the Medical Center Commission require certain public improvements. They are as follows; Wolcott Avenue and Winchester Street Datnen Avenue Taylor Street and Winchester Street Taylor Street and Marshfield Avenue Hermitage Avenue between Taylor Street and Polk Street Hermitage Avenue Schedule J —1961-63 Biennium To Supplement Ftmds from Federal, Private, and Other Grants — Ail Campuses Appropriation request $1,500,000, In the last two years grants and other supplemental funds have become more readily available to universities and other state institutions. It is anticipated that this trend will continue and the University should be prepared to achieve the most building space for its dollar. The appropriation requested will be adequate for several of the projects listed. Examples of these projects are as follows: Biophysics projects Bioacoustics Laboratory Electron Microscope Laboratory Research facilities for the Digital Computer Laboratory Research facilities for the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Research facilities for the Department of Civil Engineering Research facilities for the Betatron Research facilities for the Department of Physiology Physical Environment and Aeromedical Laboratories Public Service Training Center (Continuation Center) Radioisotopes Laboratory Research methods lor Sociology and Anthropology R.O.T.C. facilities Research facilities ior Biochemistry Research facilities for Pharmacology Research facilities for Psychology PLANNING A S S U M P T I O N S Applicable t o All C a m p u s e s 1. It is recognized that all priorities proposed by the Building Program Committee are established on the assumption that most of the requested funds will be obtained, and that if there is a major reduction, such as occurred in 1959, priority ratings must be reconsidered by the University Administration during its negotiations with the Governor and members of the Legislature on the basis of money Mely to be available. 2. A project should be completed in one biennium in order that it will not be necessary to request reapproprialions from the State Legislature. Thus, buildings recommended for construction in 1961-63 are limited to those projects for which
