It is further recommended that all contracts other than the general contract be assigned to the contractor for the general work, making the total of his contract price $2,290,324. It is further recommended that an assignment agreement be entered into with W. E. O'Neil Construction Company for the assignment of these other contracts, including a contract for insulation and pipe covering, when it is let, for $23,777.52, this being the amount bid by that Company under Alternate 1-A for a service charge for supervision of other contracts assigned to the general contractor. Funds are available in the state capital appropriations to the University from the Universities Building Fund and have been released. Submitted herewith is a supporting memorandum from the Physical Plant Department, including a schedule of all bids received, a copy of which is being filed with the Secretary of the Board for record. I concur. On motion of Mr. Swain, these contracts were awarded, as recommended, by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Clement, Mr. Dilliard, Mr. Hughes, Mr. Johnston, Mr. Pogue, Mr. Swain, M r s . Watkins, Mr. Wilkins, Mr. Williamson; no, none; absent, Mr. Harewood, Mr. Kerner.

CONTRACT FOR REROOFING SOUTH GARAGE AND TRACTOR LABORATORY

(11) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend award of a contract for $13,600 to Harlan E. Moore and Company, Champaign, the lowest bidder, for reroofing the South Garage and Tractor Laboratory building. Funds are available in the Physical Plant Department budget. I concur. On motion of Mr. Hughes, this contract was awarded, as recommended, by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Clement, Mr. Dilliard, Mr. Hughes, Mr. Johnston, Mr. Pogue, Mr. Swain, M r s . Watkins, Mr. Wilkins, Mr. Williamson; no, none; absent, Mr. Harewood, Mr. Kerner.

ADDITION TO ASSEMBLY HALL CONTRACT

(12) Harrison and Abramovitz, architects for the Assembly Hall, recommend that the surfacing of the underside of the dome of the Hall be painted. The Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend an increase of $10,300 in the contract with Felmley-Dickerson Company for this additional work. Funds are available in the Assembly Hall Construction Fund. I concur. O n motion of Mr. Swain, this change in contract was authorized.

ADDITION TO CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF ILLINI U N I O N ADDITION

(13) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend an increase of $6,506.28 in the contract with Leiter Electrical Company, Peoria, assigned to Felmley-Dickerson Company, for the construction of the addition to the Illini Union for conduits which will be needed for installation of a complete room status and guest service system, a control system for more efficient housekeeping operations. Recommendations for the installation of the system itself will be submitted at a later date. Funds are available in the construction account. I concur. On motion of Mr. Hughes, this change in contract was authorized.

PURCHASES

(14) The Director of Purchases has proposed and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommends the following purchases. Unless otherwise specified, the purchase in each case is recommended on the basis of lowest acceptable bid. I concur.
