1060 BOARD OF TRUSTEES MINUTES APPROVED [September 21 The Secretary presented the minutes of the meetings of the Board of Trustees on April 19 and May 17, 1961, press proof copies of which had previously been sent to the Board. On motion of Mr, Johnston, the minutes were approved as printed on pages 435 to 535, inclusive. B U S I N E S S P R E S E N T E D BY T H E P R E S I D E N T O F T H E U N I V E R S I T Y The Board took up consideration of the following reports and recommendations from the President of the University. MASTER SITE PLAN FOR THE CONGRESS CIRCLE CAMPUS (1) T h e master site plan for the ultimate development of the University of Illinois Congress Circle Campus in Chicago, which was publicly presented on September 14, 1961, has been approved by the Advisory Council and the VicePresident for the Chicago Undergraduate Division, and also by the University Building Program Committee. Approval of a master site plan is now required for submission to and approval by the Chicago Land Clearance Commission. Approval by the Board of Trustees is also desired before any further architectural and engineering work is authorized. Accordingly, approval and authorization to submit the plan to the Chicago Land Clearance Commission are requested. Photographic copies of this plan are submitted herewith and a copy is being filed with the Secretary of the Board for record. O n m o t i o n of M r .
