On motion of Mr. Swain, these appointments were approved. CHAIRMANSHIP OF T H E DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS. URBANA (3) The Acting Dean of the College of Commerce and Business Administration recommends the appointment of D r . Marvin Frankel,_ presently on the faculty, as Professor of Economics on indefinite tenure and Chairman of the Department of Economics at Urbana for two years beginning with the academic year 1967-68 at an annual salary of $20,000, on an academic year basis. Professor Frankel will succeed Professor John F . Due who requested that he not be considered for reappointment as Chairman of the Department. This recommendation is submitted after consultation with the Executive Committee of the Department, and is concurred in by the Chancellor of the UrbanaChampaign campus and the Dean of the Graduate College. I recommend approval. O n motion of M r . Swain, this appointment w a s approved.
