CONTRACTS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF OPTICAL TELESCOPE BUILDING (12) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend award of the following contracts for construction of the Optical Telescope Building to be located approximately thirty-five miles southeast of Urbana-Champaign in Douglas County, the award in each case to the lowest bidder: General — Skoog Construction Company, Champaign Base bid $189 000 00 Additive alternates for: Assignment of other contracts to the general contractor 1 200 00 W o r k required to include installation of stand-by generator 860 00 Deductive alternate for substituting gravel drive and access road in lieu of asphalt paving 4 400 00 Subtotal $186 660 00 Electrical — Don Fowler, an individual doing business as Don Fowler Electric, State Line, Indiana Base bid 11 266 00 Additive alternate for provision of stand-by generator 4 990 00 Subtotal 16 256 00 Plumbing — David W. This amount is included in the $215,885 contract price, and is the amount bid by that firm for service charge for the supervision of other contracts assigned to the general contractor. It is also recommended that the Board authorize the assignment of $26,000 from Urbana-Champaign Contract Research Reserve to supplement funds available from a grant from the National Science Foundation and an appropriation made by the Board of Trustees from Urbana-Champaign Contract Research Reserve on May 18, 1966.
