Engineering, at Urbana, inventor. A radon-222 collection system, consisting of a pump, traps to remove water, carbon dioxide, and radon-222 and a flow meter was modified for use in determining release of radon-222 gas from soil. Modification included addition of the gas collection device, replacement of a wet test meter by a rotometer to determine flow, and the arrangement of the apparatus so that the gas collector was located in the system where its internal pressure was approximately that of the atmosphere. It is recommended that the rights of the University be released to the inventor with full recognition of the rights of the United States Government. I concur in these recommendations. On motion of Mr. Swain, these recommendations were approved.
