REQUEST TO THE ILLINOIS BUILDING AUTHORITY TO ACQUIRE PROPERTY AT 1 3 0 1 WEST MAIN STREET, URBANA (27) The Board of Trustees at its meeting on April 20, 1966, authorized a request to the Illinois Building Authority to acquire by condemnation proceedings the property at 1301 West Main Street, Urbana, Illinois, to be used as part of the site for the Civil Engineering Building, Phase I I . Subsequent negotiations with the owners of the property after the filing of the Condemnation Petition, have resulted in their agreement to a price of $25,800, which is within the appraisals received on the property. Accordingly, the Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend that the Illinois Building Authority be requested to acquire title to the property at this time by contract of purchase or Judgment Order in the Condemnation proceedings. I concur and recommend adoption of the following resolution. Resolution R e q u e s t i n g Acquisition of P r o p e r t y a t 1301 W e s t Main Street, U r b a n a , Illinois, b y Illinois Building A u t h o r i t y Be It, and It Hereby Is, Resolved by T h e Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois, a public corporation of the State of Illinois, that the Illinois Building Authority, a body corporate and politic of the State of Illinois, duly organized and existing pursuant to " A N A C T to Create the Illinois Building Authority and to define its powers and duties" approved August IS, 1961, as amended, be, and hereby is, requested to acquire for this public corporation in accordance with the Illinois Building Authority Act, the property at 1301 West Main Street, Urbana, Illinois, described as follows: Lot One (1) in Block Fifty-one (51) in the Seminary Addition to Urbana, situated in the City of Urbana, in the County of Champaign, and State of Illinois, at an acquisition price of Twenty-five Thousand Eight Hundred Dollars ($25,800.00) and with title to be conveyed to, or vested by Judgment Order in, and possession delivered to, the Illinois Building Authority not later than January 1, 1967. Be It, and It Hereby Is Further Resolved that the Comptroller and Secretary of this public corporation be, and they hereby are, authorized and directed, to execute in the name of, and on behalf of, this public corporation such lease agreement or other document or documents, and to secure and submit appraisals and such other documentation, as they may deem to be necessary or desirable in order to effectuate such conveyance of title to the Illinois Building Authority and to secure to this public corporation the beneficial use of said property.
