Following a general discussion of admissions and the numbers of qualified students who must be denied admission, Mr. Jones asked for a report on admissions, with particular regard to admission of the disadvantaged. President H e n r y stated that such a report would be prepared as soon as the necessary data could be obtained. REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS FROM THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD

REPORT ON MEETING OF ILLINOIS BOARD OF HIGHER EDUCATION

Mr. Clement reported on the meeting of the Board of Higher Education of September 12-13, 1966, with particular reference to a document prepared by the staff of the Board of Higher Education, "A Master Plan for Higher Education in Illinois — Phase I I (Provisional D r a f t ) . " H e indicated that the staff document had not been acted upon by the Board of Higher Education but would be discussed in public hearings and other forums throughout the state and brought back to the Board of Higher Education for action on November 15. Institutional reactions have been requested by the Board by November 1. Mr. Clement announced that the subject was being referred to the Committee on General Policy for study and review.
