"Be it RESOLVED that "This Council, "Taking note that out of 11 final year students in Education, ten qualified for the award of a degree, and that out of 37 final year students in Agriculture, 33 qualified for the award of a degree, of whom two were placed in the first division and that out of 3 final year students in Home Economics, 2 qualified for the award of a degree; "Conveys its gratitude to the Government of Sierra Leone and the United States for the financial and other support which they have given to the College, particularly the former with its meagre financial resources, and also to the President of the University of Illinois and all those members of the contract staff who have co-operated in the development of the College and without whose assistance it would have been difficult to achieve the present result; "Requests the Sierra Leone Government to transmit the substance of this resolution to the U.S. Government through the usual diplomatic channels; "Asks the Secretary to transmit this resolution to Government through the usual channels. "I have been requested by the Njala University College Registrar to transmit the substance of the resolution to the President of the University of Illinois and members of the contract staff who have returned to the United States and other interested parties. It is my pleasure to do so." This report was received for record.

GIFT OF MRS. WILLIAM E. LEVIS

(19) Mr. Farber stated that Mrs. William E. Levis, Perrysville, Ohio, had offered to give the University of Illinois Foundation the sum of one million dollars, contingent upon gifts from others of $600,000, to help provide a faculty center at the Urbana campus. The center, to be located east of the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, would be named the Margaret H. and William E. Levis Faculty Center. (Mr. Levis, who died in 1962, was President and Chairman of the Board of Owens-Illinois Glass Company and was an alumnus of the College of Law, Class of 1913. Mrs. Levis was graduated from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in 1914.) T h e Trustees expressed their w a r m appreciation for the gift and directed the Secretary to convey their gratitude to Mrs. Levis.
