remarks and discussion on the document submitted earlier, presented the following proposals to the Trustees: 1. A series of discussions between the Board of Trustees, perhaps in groups of three or four, and campus student leaders, as well as other interested parties, about the causes of campus unrest and disorders. 2. A broadly based committee, specifically including students, commissioned by the Board of Trustees to analyze governance and authority in the University structure and to make recommendations concerning changes in such decision-making processes. 3. Greatly increased informal exposure of the Board of Trustees to student life on campus in order that they might more accurately understand the environment over which they exercise control. Following general discussion, on motion of Mr. Swain the Committee referred the proposals to the Committee on General Policy. On motion of Mr. Grimes, the Committee of the Whole adjourned.
