Since this assignment was made, additional income in the amount of $540 has been received from rental fees for the use of these video-taped lessons. In accordance with the policy recommended by the University Committee on Copyrights and Recordings, and for the reasons given, the Executive Vice President and Provost recommends that the additional sum of $540, and any further income accruing from such rental fees, be assigned to Professor Smith. PURCHASES (26) The President submitted, with his concurrence, a list of purchases recommended by the Directors of Purchases and the Vice President and Comptroller. The list of purchases was presented in two categories: purchases from appropriated funds (i.e., from state appropriations to the University) and purchases from institutional funds. The latter, term designates funds received by the University under contracts with the United States government, contracts with private corporations and other organizations, funds from foundation grants, and grants from corporations and other donors, and University revolving funds authorized by law. COMPTROLLER'S REPORT OF PURCHASES APPROVED (27) The Vice President and Comptroller also submitted a report of purchases approved by him on recommendation of the Directors of Purchases in amounts of $5,000 to $7,500. COMPTROLLER'S REPORT OF GIFTS AND FUNDS RECEIVED FROM OUTSIDE SOURCES (28) The Comptroller presented a report of gifts, grants, and contract funds (including funds from private donors and funds received from governmental agencies) received by the University during the fiscal year July 1, 1967, through June 30, 1968. The complete report was sent to each member of the Board in advance of the meeting and a copy is being filed with the Secretary of the Board.
