project which were previously assigned to the Illinois Building Authority by the University. c. Award a construction contract to Kuhne-Simmons Co., Inc., the low bidder, in the amount of $8,760,000, being the total of the base bid of $8,976,000 less deductive alternates Nos. 1 through 16, inclusive, which total $216,000, and assign the contract to the University of Illinois Foundation. The resolution required by the Authority appears below. 2. T h e University lease the site to the University of Illinois Foundation and that the Foundation be requested to provide for the construction and other costs related to this project and to construct the building. The agreement is to provide that the University may at its option lease back the property at a rental rate sufficient to amortize the Foundation's obligations incurred for this project or purchase the building from the Foundation at a sum which will permit the Foundation to retire its then existing obligations incurred for this project. The agreement may also provide that the University will pay over to the Foundation sums received from a federal grant for this project to be applied to construction or other costs of the project. It is anticipated that the total cost to be expended by the Foundation will not exceed $10,182,615, of which $1,082,615 will be provided through the federal grant and the balance of $9,100,000 will be financed by the Foundation. The resolution required appears below. 3. The President of the University be authorized to modify, as required, the application form filed for record on July 24, 1968, in the Office of the Secretary relating, to the treatment of this project as a "non-instructional facility" by the State Board of Higher Education. A copy of the form, revised to this date, is being filed for record in the Office of the Secretary. Resolution C o n c e r n i n g F i n a n c i n g and C o n s t r u c t i n g t h e I n t r a m u r a l P h y s i c a l E d u c a t i o n Building at t h e U r b a n a C a m p u s Be It, and It Is Hereby, Resolved by The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois acting through its Executive Committee as follows: 1. That the Illinois Building Authority be, and it hereby is, requested to award to the Kuhne-Simmons Co., Inc., Champaign, Illinois, a contract for the total work for the construction of the Intramural-Physical Education Building at the Urbana campus of the University of Illinois for the fixed price of $8,760,000, representing the total of the base bid of said company of $8,976,000 less deductive alternatives Nos. 1 through 16, inclusive, which total $216,000, and to assign said contract to the University of Illinois Foundation, a not-for-profit corporation of the State of Illinois. 2. That the Illinois Building Authority be, and it hereby is, requested to assign to the University of Illinois Foundation all contracts relating to this project which have been previously assigned to the Illinois Building Authority by The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois, said previously assigned contracts being more specifically identified as follows: a. A certain Agreement dated June 20, 1967, between The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois, as Owner, and the Julian Engineering Company, for the replacement of steam services to the Stadium for the Urbana-Champaign campus of the University of Illinois, said Agreement having been assigned by The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois to the Illinois Building Authority by Assignment dated August 23, 1967. b. A certain Agreement dated June 21, 1967, between The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois, as Owner, and Clancy Construction Co. for the diversion of underground facilities, Intramural-Physical Education Building sanitary and storm sewers for the Urbana-Champaign campus of the University of Illinois, said Agreement having been assigned by The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois to the Illinois Building Authority by Assignment dated August 23, 1967. c. A certain Agreement dated March 12, 1965, between The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois, as Owner, and William Holabird, H a r r y F. Manning and Bernard H . Bradley, a partnership doing business as Holabird & Root, Architects-Engineers, for professional services in connection with the construction of the Physical Education Building for the UrbanaChampaign campus of the University of Illinois, said Agreement having been
