And Be It Further Resolved that the Secretary or any other officer of this corporation, is hereby authorized and directed to certify a copy of these resolutions andthe names of its officers and such other employees as may be authorized to act in its behalf, to said Bank and said Bank is hereby authorized to rely and act upon such resolutions and certificate until formally advised by a like certificate of any changes therein.

On motion of Mr. Swain, the foregoing resolution was adopted.

APPLICATION FOR GRANT F U N D S UNDER PART B. TITLE VII. O F THE PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE ACT

(33) The Public Health Service Act authorizes Federal grant funds to assist in the construction of new facilities and the expansion, replacement, or rehabilitation of existing schools of medicine, osteopathy, dentistry, public health, pharmacy, optometry, podiatry, and veterinary medicine. The requirements for the submission of an application for a grant under this Act necessitate the adoption of a formal resolution by the governing board of an institution, authorizing the filing of the application, including all understandings and assurances contained therein, and directing and authorizing the person identified as the official representative of the applicant to act in connection with the application and to provide such additional information as may be required. In compliance with these regulations, the Executive Vice President and Provost and the Vice President and Comptroller recommend that The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois adopt the resolution submitted herewith. I concur. Resolution Authorizing the Filing of Application for Grant Funds Under Part B, Title VII, of the Public Health Service Act WHEREAS, the Public Health Service Act authorizes Federal grants to assist in the construction of new facilities and the expansion, replacement, or rehabilitation of existing schools of medicine, osteopathy, dentistry, public health, pharmacy, optometry, podiatry and veterinary medicine; and WHEREAS, The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois, the governing body of the University of Illinois, hereinafter called the Applicant, is cognizant of the conditions under which such grants are made available and approved for payment to an applicant; and WHEREAS, it is the sense of the governing body of the Applicant that it is desirable to apply for a construction grant under the aforementioned act for the project described as follows: College of Dentistry Building, Phase II at Medical Center. Now,^ Therefore, Be It Resolved, That an application for the project described is authorized and directed to be filed with the National Institutes of Health, Department of Health, Education and Welfare, United States of America; and be it further Resolved, that The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois designate David W. Bonham, Director of Business Affairs of the University of Illinois at the Medical Center, as the officer authorized to file the application and act as the representative of this Board in connection with said application.
