LEASES W I T H A N D ASSIGNMENT O F ARCHITECTURAL A N D ENGINEERING CONTRACTS TO T H E ILLINOIS BUILDING AUTHORITY, MEDICAL CENTER AND URBANA (13) T h e Seventy-seventh General Assembly declared certain buildings and projects for the University of Illinois at the Medical Center and Urbana-Champaign campuses to be in the public interest, thereby indicating the funding of these projects could be accomplished by the Illinois Building Authority. T h e Illinois Building Authority Act contemplates that a transfer of jurisdiction of the property on which the projects are to be constructed will be made to the Authority and that lease agreements between the Authority and the University will be executed, providing for the construction of the specified projects by the Authority and their use by the University. Funds for the payment of rental to the Authority during the current fiscal year are available in state appropriations to the University. The President of the University, with the concurrence of appropriate administrative officers, recommends adoption of the following resolution authorizing the Comptroller and the Secretary of the Board of Trustees to make, execute, acknowledge, and deliver the necessary lease, instrument of transfer, and other documents between the University and the Illinois Building Authority to accomplish the purposes stated. It is further recommended that authorization be given for assignment of t h e following architectural and engineering contracts to the Illinois Building Authority at the appropriate time (for these projects which the Authority has been requested to finance in F Y 1972) : Medical Center Campus College of Dentistry Building, Phase I I Graham, Anderson, Probst & White, Incorporated, Chicago Library of Medical Sciences (Library Holabird & Root, Chicago of the Health Sciences) Urbana-Champaign Campus Medical Sciences Building Fugard, Orth and Associates, Inc., Chicago Speech and Hearing Clinic Ezra Gordon — Jack M. Levin & Associates, Chicago Resolution WHEREAS, the Illinois Building Authority, a body corporate and politic of the State of Illinois created by the General Assembly of the State of Illinois is empowered to acquire by purchase or otherwise, construct, complete, remodel, maintain, and equip any and all buildings and other facilities as the General Assembly by law declares to be in the public interest; WHEREAS, in accordance with the Illinois Building Authority Act the Seventysixth and Seventy-seventh General Assemblies of the State of Illinois have declared the following University of Illinois projects to be in the public interest: Medical Center Campus College of Dentistry Building, Phase I I Library of Medical Sciences (Library of Health Sciences) Total, Medical Center Campus Urbana-Champaign Campus Medical Sciences Building Speech and Hearing Clinic Total, Urbana-Champaign Campus Total, The Board of Trustees of the University $ 9 327 184 9 064 800 $18 391 984 $ 7 1 $ 8 $27 017 300 887 600 904 900 296 884
