DIRECTORSHIP OF T H E SCHOOL OF MUSIC, URBANA (7) T h e Dean of the College of Fine and Applied Arts has recommended to the Chancellor at Urbana-Champaign the appointment of Dr. L. Thomas Fredrickson, presently Professor of Music and Acting Director of the School of Music, as Professor of Music on indefinite tenure and Director of the School of Music beginning September 1, 1971, on an academic year service basis, at an annual salary of $24,000. Dr. Fredrickson will succeed Dr. Duane Branigan who earlier asked to be relieved of this administrative assignment and will retire at the end of the current year. The nomination of Dr. Fredrickson is made with the advice of a search committee. 1 The nomination is supported by the Executive Committee of the College and the Dean of the Graduate College. The Chancellor at Urbana-Champaign approves the recommendation. The Executive Vice President and Provost concurs. I recommend approval. O n m o t i o n of M r . HEADSHIP OF THE DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION, URBANA (8) The Acting Dean of the College of Commerce and Business Administration has recommended to the Chancellor at Urbana-Champaign the appointment of Dr. Kenneth P . Uhl, presently Professor of Marketing at the University of Iowa, as Professor of Business Administration on indefinite tenure, and Head of the Department of Business Administration, effective February 1, 1972, at an annual salary of $25,500. Dr. Uhl will succeed Dr. Jagdish N. Sheth, who has been Acting Head and will continue to serve in this capacity until Dr. Uhl assumes his duties. T h e nomination of Dr. Uhl was made with the advice of a search committee* and after consultation with members of the faculty of the Department. The nomination is supported by the Executive Committee of the College of Commerce and Business Administration and by the Dean of the Graduate College. The Chancellor at Urbana-Champaign approves the recommendation. The Executive Vice President and Provost concurs. I recommend approval. O n m o t i o n of M r .
