PURCHASE OF ADDITIONAL PROPERTY IN CHICAGO (11) The Director of the Physical Plant Department and the Comptroller recommend the purchase of the following parcels of property in Chicago, as a part of the program of acquisition of land adjoining the Research and Educational Hospitals: Property at 1830 West Taylor Street, at a total cost of $6,172.19, including $6,000 to the owner and $150 commission. Property at 1836 West Taylor Street, at a total cost of $7,697.74, subject to 1042 taxes, and small title charges. The purchase cost includes $2,322.74 paid by the University for delinquent taxes, $375 commission, and $5,000 to the owner. I recommend approval. T h e Comptroller presented this item. PURCHASE OF CARPET FOR RECITAL HALL (12) A recommendation from the Committee on Special Appropriations and Non-recurring Expenditures that an appropriation of $2,500 be made to provide for the purchase of carpet for the aisles of the recital hall in the Smith Memorial Music Building.
