964 BOARD OF TRUSTEES [September 16 Ford Foundation has also emphasized the importance of our having first-hand knowledge of current economic, social, and political developments, as well as developments in the field of education, in the area of Southeast Asia as well as in India. On the basis of these recommendations, I have made plans for the trip as indicated and request the approval of the Board of Trustees. On motion of Mr. Johnston, the request of the President was approved.
