1958] UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS 59 and of the title by the Legal Counsel, and further recommend that the Legal Counsel be authorized and directed to take the necessary steps to institute a condemnation suit and acquire the property through the exercise of the University's right and power of eminent domain in the event the owner refuses to sell the property to the University at the $29,000 figure. I concur. Mr. Williamson reported that this recommendation had previously been submitted to and was considered by the Committee on Buildings and Grounds. On motion of Mr. Williamson, the acquisition of this property at a purchase price of $29,000 was authorized; and if the owner refuses to sell at that figure, the Legal Counsel is authorized to institute a condemnation suit for the acquisition of this property through proceedings in eminent domain. This action was taken by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Bissell, Mr. Hughes, Mr. Livingston, Mr. Nickell, Mr. Swain, Mrs. Watkins, Mr. Williamson; no, none; absent, Mr. Herrick, Mrs. Holt, Mr. Johnston, Mr. Stratton.
