GIFTS OF MR. A N D MRS. HERMAN C. KRANNERT (22) Mr. and Mrs. Herman C. Krannert of Indianapolis, whose generosity has made possible the Krannert A r t Museum, have made an additional grant of $62,000 from the Krannert Foundation to the University of Illinois Foundation to be used in the construction of the Museum. This brings the total grant from the Krannert Foundation for this project to $300,000. Mrs. Krannert has given securities to the University amounting to $71,0.23.01 for the purchase of the painting, "Christ After the Flagellation," by Murillo. This will be a very important acquisition and will enhance the standard and character of the University's entire art collection. T h e painting has been purchased at a cost of $68,000, Mrs. Krannert has requested that the remainder of the grant be added to the fund for the construction of the Museum. I have written Mr. and Mrs. Krannert an appropriate acknowledgment of the gifts on behalf of the University and the Foundation.

This report was received for record.
