CHANGE IN CONTRACT FOR ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES (22) The University has a contract with Ambrose M. Richardson of Ambrose M. Richardson and Associates, Champaign, for architectural consultant and design services for one year from August I, 1957, with a maximum cost of $48,500. The scope of work on which these services have been needed has changed. The Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend that the maximum cost be increased to $51,000 with the following adjustments in allocations: . . . Original Amount Revised Amount Men's Residence Halls, Stage 4 ?2i 000 $ 8 000 Women's Residence Hall 13 000 13 000 Continuing Services on Housing Projects and Fine Arts Building 1 500 3 000 Campus Plan Studies and Consultative Services. . 13 000 27 000 Total $48 500 £51 000 The Director of the Physical Plant and Vice-President and Comptroller further recommend a new contract for continuation of these services (the name of Mr. Richardson's firm is now Richardson, Severns, and Associates) for the fiscal year 1958-59 for the following: 1. Continuation of Urbana campus plan studies ? i o 000 2. Preparation of a campus plan study for the Chicago Professional Colleges 16 000 3. Completion of design work on Single Men's Housing Project No. 3 $2 000 Single Women's Housing Project No. 2 2 000 Fine and Applied Arts Building and Krannert Art Museum 2 000 6 000 4. New design projects Single Women's Housing Project No. 3 13 000 Single Men's Housing Project No. 4 17 000 30 000 5. Design consultation on other projects as requested 3 000 Total Estimate for the Year $65 000 Items I and 2 can be financed from current appropriations for architectural studies. Funds are available in the construction contracts for services chargeable to the Fine and Applied Arts Building and the Krannert Art Museum. The remainder of Items 3 and 4 can be financed through temporary assignments of University funds which will be reimbursed when funds are borrowed for the construction work. Work under Item 5 will be activated by recommendations to and approval by the Comptroller. Payments on this contract will be made monthly for labor at cost (A. M. Richardson at $10.00 an hour, John Severns at $5.00 an hour, and draftsmen at $3.00 an hour), plus 75 per cent commission; other items such as materials for models, travel expenses, reproduction of drawings above two copies of each, and miscellaneous expenses on actual cost basis. All buildings under this contract will be audited by the Business Office. I concur.

On motion of Mrs. Watkins, this contract was authorized by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Bissell, Mr. Hughes, Mr. Livingston, Mr. Nickell, Mr. Swain, Mrs. Watkins, Mr. Williamson; no, none; absent, Mr. Herrick, Mrs. Holt, Mr. Johnston, Mr. Stratton.

ESTATE OF LAVERNE NOYES (23) The Board of Trustees authorized an agreement with the other college and university beneficiaries of the Estate of LaVerne Noyes whereby administrative trustees were appointed for the purpose of developing and carrying out a program for the retention, distribution, or liquidation of stock in the Aermotor Corporation, the principal assets of this Estate.
