Department of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, alterations in Talbot Laboratory 7 325 Total $14 025 Addition to Contract for Engineering Services T h e University has a standing contract with Brown, Manthei, Davis, and Mullins, Champaign, formerly Consulting Engineering Services, for engineering services on various buildings and utilities extension projects. The Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend an addition to this contract to cover engineering services in the preparation of drawings and specifications for plumbing, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and wiring required in the remodeling of the Electrical Engineering Annex for use by the Bioacoustics Laboratory, at an estimated cost, including fees, of $6,500. Funds are available in the appropriation made for the construction of the Bioacoustics Laboratory from the General Reserve. Contract for Refrigeration S y s t e m in Ice Rink The Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend award of a contract for $51,250 to R. H . Bishop Company, Champaign, the lowest bidder, for replacement of the present ammonia-operated compressor system and auxiliary equipment in the Ice Rink with a new Freon refrigeration system. They also recommend the employment of the firm of Brown, Manthei, Davis, and Mullins, Champaign, for the engineering services required in connection with this new installation, at an estimated cost, including professional fees, of $4,300. The University now has a standing contract with this firm for engineering services on various buildings and utilities extension projects, and it is recommended that the employment of this firm on the Ice Rink installation be by an addendum to the existing contract. T h e Director of Athletics and the Business Manager of the Athletic Association join in these recommendations. Funds will be advanced by the Athletic Association for all this work. The program was approved by the Board of Trustees on July 29, 1958. SECRETARY'S REPORTS
