Mr. Havens explained that this elevator is a replacement. On motion of Mr. Pogue, the contract was awarded to the lowest bidder, the Otis Elevator Company, for $6,017, as recommended. CONTRACT FOR COAL FOR THE CHICAGO DEPARTMENTS (13) The Purchasing Agent and the Director of the Physical Plant Department submit the following bids received on approximately 500 tons of No. 3 Chestnut (size 1 )A" x ^i") raw southern Illinois coal, to be delivered in truck load lots into bins as needed for the Chicago physical plant: Price per net Ion delivered Consumers Company @ $4 79 Crerar Clinch Coal Co @ 487 Western Fuel Company @ 5 00 J. Collins Coal Co No bid Municipal Coal Company No bid Columbia Coal Company No bid They recommend that the contract be awarded to the Consumers Company, the lowest bidder, at a price of $4-79 per net ton delivered. On motion of Mrs. Plumb, this contract was awarded to the Consumers Company as recommended. QUARTERLY REPORT OF THE COMPTROLLER (14) The quarterly report of the Comptroller to the Board of Trustees as at June 30, 1938. A copy of this is being sent to each member of the Board. This report was received for record. AUDITORS' REPORT ON THE UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS FOUNDATION (15) The Treasurer of the University of Illinois Foundation submits an auditors' report by Messrs. Arthur Andersen & Co. to the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois on the accounts of the Foundation for the year ended June 30, 1938. A copy of this report has been filed with the Secretary of the Board, and copies are also being sent to the members of the Finance Committee. This report was received for record. PURCHASE OF RADIO TRANSMITTER (16) A recommendation that the Board give further consideration to the purchase of a 5,000-watt transmitter for the Radio Station, action on which was deferred at the last meeting.
