EXCHANGE O F CHICAGO PROPERTY (15) T h e Director of the Physical Plant Department h a s suggested that the program for the exchange of University property in Chicago with Cook County be postponed until the new Executive Dean has taken office and has had sufficient time to study the rehousing program previously submitted to the Board which would make available student lounge and food service facilities. Among the needs of the Chicago Departments is a student center building, or similar quarters, better living conditions for the students, and completion of the rehousing program or some readjustment centralizing the three colleges. It is possible that the proceeds from the sale of some of the University's property might be used to complete the rehousing program. Postponement of the exchange of property will not necessarily commit the Board as to a future program but will give time for study of an alternate plan which might result in an excellent use of funds realized from the sale of property.
