If this offer is accepted, Mr. Myers asks that the University Counsel draw a deed of gift for execution by him, and he will also provide in his will for the delivery of the collection t o the University. I recommend acceptance of this offer.

On motion of Mr. Jensen, this offer was accepted and the University Counsel was authorized to draw the deed of gift as requested.

GIFTS T O THE UNIVERSITY (44) A report of the following gifts received by the University since the last report: 1. Illinois Bankers Association, $500 for the renewal of a graduate fellowship in banking for the year 1939-1940. 2. Illinois Federation of Women's Clubs, $300 for additional gynecological cancer research. 3. Nutrition Research Laboratories, Incorporated, $150 additional for vitamin D fund. 4. Electric Auto-Lite Company, $375 additional for a research assistantship in chemistry. 5. Ladies' Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign W a r s Award, additional $50. 6. Chicago Vitreous Enamel Products Company, $33.50 additional for enamel frits research. 7. Chicago W o m a n ' s Club, $200 for research work on the treatment of cancer by a new drug called Colchicine, in the Department of Surgery of the College of Medicine. 8. T h e H e n r y Strong Educational Foundation, $600 for a graduate fellowship. This fellowship is to be restricted to the physical sciences, engineering, and business. 9. Chicago Bridge and Iron Company, fabricated steel pipe to the College of Engineering for experimental purposes, to a total value of $1,358.06. 10. Electrical equipment and materials for the use of the Department of Electrical Engineering from the Detroit Edison Company, Detroit, Michigan; the States Company, Hartford, Connecticut; the Superior Switchboard and Devices Company, Canton, O h i o ; the Sangamo Electric Company, Springfield, Illinois; and the General Electric Company, Springfield, Illinois. 11. T h e Students' Mutual Benefit Hospital Fund, $61.05 to cover the additional cost of X-ray equipment and the installation thereof in the McKinley Hospital, for which a gift of $6,000 was previously made by the Fund. 12. Mr. J. N. Chester, a book, "The Great Canal at Suez," an original letter by Ferdinand de Lesseps, and " T h e Life of Robert Stevenson, Civil Engineer," with two letters written by him, to the Engineering Library. 13. T h e Barrett Company, New York City, 500 pounds of sulphate of ammonia for use as fertilizer on the pastures of the Department of Dairy Husbandry. 14. Stoek Memorial Committee, $3.44 for the Consolidated Loan Fund. 15. Standard Brands, Incorporated, an additional $600 for research on antiseptic properties of the skin. O n m o t i o n of M r .
