On motion of Mr. Karraker, the action of the President of the University in making these adjustments was confirmed, and the appropriation was made as recommended, by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Adams, Mr. Cleary, Mr. Karraker, Mr. Mayer, Dr. Meyer, Mr. Moschel, Mrs. Plumb, Mr. Pogue, Mr. Wieland; no, none; absent, Mrs. Freeman, Mr. Horner. CHANGE IN STATUS OF PROFESSOR FREDERIC A. RUSSELL (8) T h e services of Professor Frederic A. Russell, of the Department of Business Organization and Operation, were made available to the University of Illinois Foundation for as much of his time as may be needed in directing the Foundation's fund-raising campaign from September 1, 1938, to February 1, 1939. I recommend that Professor Russell be authorized to devote one-half time to the work of the Foundation for the balance of the academic year, or from February I, 1939, to August 31, 1939. The College and the Department have arranged to give him a teaching load of one-half time during the second semester. This will not involve any additional expense as the appropriation of $700 made by the Board on September 24, 1938, to provide for as much assistance in the teaching schedule as would be necessary will be sufficient for the entire year. On motion of Mr. Cleary, this recommendation was approved.
