Authorization is also requested, in accordance with the needs of the University and the equitable interests involved and within total resources: (a) to accept resignations; (b) to make such additional appointments as are necessary, and to approve the issuance of nonreappointments, subject to the provisions of the University of Illinois Statutes, the General Rules Concerning University Organization and Procedures, and the Policy and Rules — Nonacademic; and (c) to make such changes and adjustments in items included in the interim budget as are needed. Award of Certified Public Accountant Certificates

(2) The Committee on Accountancy recommends that the certificate of certified public accountant be awarded, under Section 5 of the Illinois Accountancy Act of 1943, as amended, to seven candidates who have presented evidence that they are holders of valid and unrevoked certified public accountant certificates obtained by passing a standard written examination in another state or territory of the United States and who qualify in all other respects under this provision of the law. The Committee on Accountancy, pursuant to Rule 16(d) of the regulations, also recommends that the certificate of certified public accountant be awarded to twenty-eight candidates who wish to transfer the examination credit earned by passing the standard written examination in another state and who have fulfilled all other legal requirements under Sections 1, 2, and 3 of the Illinois Accountancy Act of 1943, as amended. The Committee on Accountancy also recommends that the certificate of certified public accountant be awarded to one candidate who passed the standard written examination in November 1980 in Illinois and who has fulfilled all other legal requirements under Sections 1, 2, and 3 of the Illinois Accountancy Act of 1943, as amended. The names of all candidates are filed with the secretary. I concur in these recommendations. O n m o t i o n of D r . D o n o g h u e , these certificates w e r e a w a r d e d .

Dean, Jane Addams College of Social Work, Chicago Circle

(3) The chancellor at Chicago Circle has recommended the appointment of Dr. Donald Brieland, presently interim dean and professor in the Jane Addams College of Social Work, as dean of the Jane Addams College of Social Work, beginning September 1, 1981, on a twelve-month service basis at an annual salary of $60,500. Dr. Brieland has been on leave of absence as dean and professor in the School of Social Work at the Urbana-Champaign campus since September 1, 1980, when he was named interim dean at the Chicago Circle campus.
