Undergraduate Instructional Awards for the Summer of 1981, Urbana (9) T h e Undergraduate Instructional Awards program at the Urbana-Champaign campus seeks to encourage faculty in the improvement of the quality of undergraduate instruction. T h e awards provide salary for one or two months (one-ninth or two-ninths of the academic year salary) plus incidental expenses and graduate assistant support as required. Applications for the awards are evaluated and ranked at the department, school, and college levels before being evaluated by a campus-wide committee. T h e committee selects those proposals believed to promise the greatest potential benefit to undergraduate instruction.
