On motion of Mrs. Gravenhorst, this recommendation was approved by the following vote: Aye, Mrs. Day, Mr. Forsyth, Mrs. Gravenhorst, Mr. Howard, Mr. Logan, Mr. Madden, Mrs. Shepherd; no, none; absent, Miss Smith, Governor Thompson. (Mr. Hahn asked to be recorded as not voting.) (The student advisory vote was: Aye, Mr. Becker, Mr. Lamm; no, none.)

Employment of Professional Firms Required in Connection with the Beckman Institute, Urbana

(24) In order to realize the project completion schedule requested by Dr. and Mrs. Beckman for the proposed Arnold O. and Mabel M . Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology, it will be necessary to employ professional firms as soon as possible for: a. Master planning of the north campus; b. Architectural/engineering services for the design of the Beckman Institute; c. Construction management services for the planning phase of the Beckman Institute; and d. Engineering services required for the utility master plan of the north campus. Interview committees for these professional planning categories are currently at work and expect to make recommendations by approximately December 10, 1985. Accordingly, the president of the University, with the concurrence of the appropriate administrative officers, recommends that the comptroller be authorized
