1986] UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS 43 LUNCHEON Special guests of Trustee Gravenhorst were executives and officers of the Coleman Foundation and Fannie May Candy Shops, Inc., of Chicago: John E. Hughes, president of the Coleman/Fannie May Foundation and chief executive officer of the Fannie May Candy Shops, Inc.; Jean D. Thome, executive director of the Foundation and chairman of the board of the Fannie May Candy Shops, Inc.; and Richard M. Peritz, president of the Fannie May Candy Shops, Inc., and executive vice president of the Coleman Foundation. The foundation and officers have been supporters of the University of Illinois Foundation and Eye Research Institute. They have also established the Denton Thome Endowed Chair of Small Business Enterprise at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
