ANNUAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS January 7 , 1 9 8 8 T h e annual meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held in the General Lounge, Illini Union, Urbana, Illinois, on Thursday, January 7, 1988, beginning at 8:00 a.m. President George W. Howard I I I called the meeting to order and asked the secretary to call the roll. T h e following members of the board were present: Mrs. Judith Ann Calder, Mr. William D. Forsyth, Jr., Mrs. Susan L. Gravenhorst, Mr. Ralph C. Hahn, 1 Mr. Howard, Mr. Albert N. Logan, Mrs. Nina T . Shepherd, Miss Ann E. Smith, Mr. Charles P. Wolff. Governor James R. Thompson was absent. T h e following nonvoting student trustees were present: Mr. James L. Evenson, Chicago campus; Mr. Robert Scott Wylie, Urbana-Champaign campus. Also present were President Stanley O. Ikenberry; Dr. Robert W. Resek, acting vice president for academic affairs; Dr. Donald N. Langenberg, chancellor, University of Illinois at Chicago; Dr. Morton W. Weir, interim chancellor, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; and the officers of the board, Dr. Craig S. Bazzani, comptroller (and vice president for business and finance); Mr. Byron H. Higgins, university counsel; M r . Bernard T . Wall, treasurer; and Dr. Earl W. Porter, secretary. 1 Mr. Hahn arrived at 8:45 a.m. 435
