Undergraduate Instructional Awards for the Summer of 1979, Urbana

(8) T h e program of Undergraduate Instructional Awards at Urbana seeks to encourage faculty interest in the improvement of undergraduate instruction. T h e awards provide salary during the summer for one or two months (one-ninth or two-ninths of the academic year salary) plus incidental expenses and graduate assistant support as required. Applications for the awards are evaluated and ranked at the departmental, school, and college levels before being evaluated by a campuswide committee that selects those proposals believed to promise the greatest potential benefit to undergraduate instruction. T h e vice chancellor for academic affairs has recommended to the chancellor the following awards, all for two months, for the summer of 1979:
