Litigation to Recover Damages to University Automobile (43) On November 22, 1977, a University automobile was involved in an accident in Peoria, Illinois, and was damaged in the amount of approximately $1,850. The circumstances of the accident were such that it is believed that the University is entitled to recover these damages from the owner or driver of the other vehicle involved. The university counsel has recommended that he be authorized to take such steps as are necessary or appropriate, including the employment of special counsel and the initiation of litigation, to protect the interests of the University and to recover amounts due it by virtue of the above described accident. I concur. T h e student advisory vote was: Aye, Miss Kooper, Mr. Sobotka, Mr. Watson; no, none. O n motion of Dr. Donoghue, authority was given as recommended by the following vote: Aye, Dr. Donoghue, Mr. Forsyth, Mr. H a h n , Mr. Howard, Mr. Lenz, Mr. Neal, Mrs. Shepherd, Mr. Stone, Mr. Velasquez; no, none; absent, Governor Thompson. REPORT, CHAIRMAN OF THE CONSULTATIVE COMMITTEE TO ASSIST IN THE SELECTION OF A PRESIDENT Meeting further in executive session, with all officers excused other than the president of the University and secretary of the board, the trustees received a report on the work of the Consultative Committee from its chairman, Professor Martin Wagner. There being no further business, the board adjourned.
